Today was the bike tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours. The gang left the hotel around 10:30 and headed for Alexanderplatz. The tour company is located right under the tv tower. After everyone picked out their bike and got aquatinted with it we headed out with the guidance of Blakely aka Brocolli, Bakery, Bently ect... We headed through Karl Marx Allee to the Eastside Gallery. There we spent a few minutes checking out the largest section of the wall left intact. Since it is the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall the invited a lot of the artists to come back to the wall and repaint their murals. We saw a few artists out, and I got a couple photos. Then we headed to the Treptower Park Memorial built in honor of the Russian soldiers. The sight was simply breath taking. The park was lined with trees that guided you to several large statues. After that we headed for lunch at a biergarten near the river, and then headed back to the hotel to do our time crunch regarding tonights play.
Our tour guide, who answers to many names.
I was excited to find an Electra cruiser. Mine was named Spiderman.
Each bike was equipped with a bell and a squeekee toy. We made a fierce bike gang.
Handle bar view.
This is one of my favorite murals that we saw.
An artist working on restoring a mural.
The Russian memorial park.
That's it for now, more later.
